ELSIB will supply generators for GE gas turbines localized in Russia

St. Petersburg, Russia, June 19, 2015. – In the framework of the XIXth St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, “Russian Gas Turbines” LLC (joint venture of GE, Inter RAO and United Engine Corporation) and Russian electrical engineering company “ELSIB” signed a Memorandum of Understanding on conducting training and organizing the supply of generators 90 MW for 6FA turbines localized on Rybinsk plant. The Memorandum was signed by Nadezhda Izotova, General Manager of "Russian Gas Turbines" LLC, and Dmitry Bezmelnitsyn, General Manager of “ELSIB” OJSC.

The Memorandum provides for the parties’ intentions to sign as soon as possible a contract for the supply of the first pilot, and then serial generator type TF-90G-2U3 in the framework of the Russian Gas Turbines equipment localization project. The scope of supply includes a turbine generator, static excitation system, acoustic enclosure and equipment to be mounted on site.

The turbine generator TF-90G-2U3 is an extension of the existing equipment line of "ELSIB" which has been successfully operating on the stations in Russia and CIS countries for many years. Application of Russian generator in gas power plants allows offering the end consumer a product that closely matches the existing technical regulations. In addition, the Russian generator allows reducing costs of equipment installation, commissioning, training of plant personnel and subsequent maintenance.

In case of success of the first project, “Russian Gas Turbines” LLC plans to expand cooperation with “ELSIB” and to consider the development, design and manufacture static frequency converters for TF-90G-2U3 that will allow providing Russian consumers with a comprehensive solution for localized 6FA gas turbine units.

Nadezhda Izotova, General Manager of “Russian Gas Turbines” LLC: “We are glad that GE energy equipment, manufactured in Russia, will be supplied with high-tech components manufactured in Russia. This will bring additional benefits to our clients by reducing costs for logistics, maintenance and by raising efficiency of production processes. The “ELSIB” company completely meets global requirements and GE quality standards”.

Dmitry Bezmelnitsyn, General Manager of “ELSIB” OJSC: “For ELSIB the partnership with Russian Gas Turbines is a significant and important event that will become a new page in the history of our company and will certainly give a new impetus to further development of the domestic engineering”.

The company "Russian Gas Turbines" LLC was founded with the purpose of production, sale and maintenance in Russia and CIS of high-efficiency 6FA gas turbines, 77 MW, with low emissions. The capacity of the plant in the initial phase will be 14 6FA units per year and can be increased up to 20 turbines a year due to the growth of production capacity. The production plant will meet the growing demand in Russia and CIS for highly efficient mid-size power units for projects of combined heat and electrical energy production.
